The Poshan Abhiyan and Tree Plantation programme was organised on dt. 17.09.2022 at KVK, Ganjam-I campus. This year the theme for poshan abhiyan are 1) Awareness on Nutri-garden and bio-fortified varieties, 2) Interaction on nutri-cereals and their role on human health, 3) Distribution of saplings of fruit/agro-forestry trees and seed packets of vegetables. An awareness programme is conducted with 100 nos of farmers & farm women under the chairmanship of Senior Scientist & Head. The Child Development Project Officer (ICDS) attended the programme and remarked on Gender equality at family Level, V.S, Jagannathprasad addressed to farm women about role of animal husbandry and family food nutrition security, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Ganjam-I has given emphasis on nutri-cereals and their role on human health. The Scientist (Home Science) has given importance on nutritional garden, AAO (Bhanjanagar) explained the role of bio-fortified crops, IFFCO, Field Officer explained the role of agro-forestry for balancing eco-system. Two nos of progressive farm women also shared their experience on nutri-garden & bio-fortified vegetables. 100 nos of seed packets & 200 nos of papaya & drumstick sapling were distributed during the programme. At the end of the programme a plantation programme has been conducted inside KVK campus.
