World Soil Day was celebrated at KVK, Ganjam-I campus on dt. 05.12.2021. A total no. of 45 participants including 4nos of Govt. Officials, one NGO along with KVK staffs participated. In this programme importance of soil, management of problematic soil, green manuring, vermicomposting, bio-fertiliser applications, soil sample collection procedure etc. were discussed. Farmers were advised to test soil & apply nutrient as per recommendations in soil health card. A practical demonstration on soil sample collection was conducted. In the end of the programme soil health card & different seedlings/saplings viz. Drumstick, Papaya, Lemon were distributed among farmers. The details of the programme is given below.
