The Mahila Kissan Divas was celebrated at village Ekalapur of Surada block. More than 50 women farmers were participated in the meeting.The Senior Scientist & Head of KVK, Ganjam-I in his speech emphasized on making SHG groups among women farmer. The Block Project Coordinator of Odisha Livelihood Mission, Ganjam in her speech gave the importance empowerment of women and how to augment their income through different agricultural schemes and other activities. Other Scientists of KVK also delivered their speech on this occasion. The Home Scientist told on use of different farm machineries for drudgery reduction and to reduce cost of cultivation.The Horticulture scientist taught the women farmer how to make value addition products from different fruits & vegetables produce. At the end the a debate competition was held among the women farmer regarding women empowerment & their role in agriculture sector and the best one is awarded with prize.
